osteoma spongiosum

osteoma /os·te·o·ma/ (os″te-o´mah) a benign, slow-growing tumor composed of well-differentiated, densely sclerotic, compact bone, occurring particularly in the skull and facial bones.
compact osteoma  a small, dense, compact tumor of mature lamellar bone with little medullary space, usually in the craniofacial or nasal bones.
osteoma cu´tis 
1. formation of bone-containing nodules in the skin.
2. progressive dermal ossification during childhood, with development of islands of heterotopic bone within the dermis or subcutis, coalescence of the lesions into plaques, and invasion of ossification into deep connective tissues.

ivory osteoma  compact o.
osteoma medulla´re  one having marrow spaces.
osteoid osteoma  a small, benign but painful, circumscribed tumor of spongy bone, usually in the bones of the limbs or vertebrae of young persons.
osteoma spongio´sum , spongy osteoma one having cancellated bone.

A spongy osteoma primarily of cancellous bone tissue.

osteoma
a benign tumor composed of bony tissue. In animals seen most commonly on jaws and in the nasal sinuses of horses and cattle. Histologically similar to ossifying fibroma, fibrous dysplasia, heterotopic ossification and exostosis.

osteoid osteoma
a small, benign but painful, circumscribed tumor of spongy bone, occurring especially in the bones of the extremities and vertebrae in humans. Similar lesions have been reported in cats.
osteoma spongiosum
one containing cancellated bone.
