An instrument that records oscillations, usually electrical.

oscillograph

(ŏs′ĭl-ō-grăf) [″ + Gr. graphein, to write]
An electronic device used for detecting, displaying, and recording variations in electrical phenomena. In medicine, electrocardiographs and electroencephalographs are examples of the application of this technique.
