Whole glands are no longer implanted, but substances derived from animal organs are widely used. Also called Brown-Séquard's treatment. organotherapeutic, adj. organotherapy [or″gah-no-ther´ah-pe] therapeutic administration of animal endocrine organs or their extracts.
