oph·thal·mi·a no·do·sa

the presence of nodular swellings on the conjunctiva, caused by penetration of ocular tissues by the hairs of caterpillars.

ophthalmia nodosa

A granulomatous nodular inflammation of the conjunctiva after exposure to certain vegetables or animals, esp. the hair of caterpillars or tarantulas.
