fixation of the omentum to the abdominal wall, especially to establish collateral circulation in portal obstruction or, in ruminants, to avoid recurrence of abomasal displacement. Called also omentopexy.

Hanover method omentofixation
in a right flank laparotomy the omentum is included in the suture line when the incision is closed.
Utrecht method omentofixation
through a left flank incision the omentum is sutured to the midline with a suture that passes through the abdominal wall and is tied on the outside of the skin.
