Patient discussion about off.

Q. a good way or a method to shed off some pounds? Hello all, im a college student struggling with 15 to 20 extra pounds, I'm trying to shade it off, any one may say, run exercise, since I'm a soccer player it would only be obvious that i would be fit. My problem is that I hav a fracture knee and a previous dislocated right knee. Due to this i cant really excersice, so im asking for anyone out there,

A. Well, the best advice I have for you is to combine eating properly- less fat, less carbs and a 1200-1400 calories a day diet, with moderate physical activity, not like running, but for instance- swimming. a 45 minute swim 3-4 times a week with a low calorie intake diet would do the trick!

Q. Hey everybody!!! how's the weekend started off?? quite well for me. why dont you guys tell a few headlines of how your week went..? hope you all enjoy the rest of the day...

A. 300 bucks?!?!? wow... I'm cheep!!!!

Q. How do I explain why I keep going off my meds? Am I the only one that has this problem?

A. It is very common for people with bipolar disorder to cycle on and off of their drugs. Although not advisable. There are reasons ranging from denial (I dont think I have this illess), craving the high feelings and energy resulting from mania's to side effects from the medications. There is a good book you can read called An Unquiet Mind by Kay Redfield Jamison, It is written in her first person experience with bipolar disorder and she talks in length about her tendancies to come off her medications.
