hypotelorism /hy·po·telo·rism/ (-tēl´er-izm) abnormally decreased distance between two organs or parts.

ocular hypotelorism, a developmental defect involving the frontal region of the cranium, characterized by an abnormal narrowing of the bridge of the nose and decreased distance between the eyes with resulting convergent strabismus. The condition is often associated with other cranial and facial deformities, primarily microcephaly, trigonocephaly, and some degree of mental retardation.
