Q. can anyone tell me what kind of dietary supplements I can have to control cold and cough? I often get severe cold and then try with meds to get rid of cold….now the frequency is very less and I get cold without any reason and the meds also didn’t work for me……can anyone tell me what kind of dietary supplements I can have to control cold and cough?

A. I have found that taking Oil of Oregano capsules, one a day helps to get rid of it then continue for general well being. Also, Wellness Formula by Source is an excellent supplement to not only give you the vitamin support that you need but it also has echinacea, an herb that will help to boost your immune system! As the label says, take 3 every 3 hours if you feel that you are out of balance....

Q. What is the dietary supplement to prevent constipation in future? I have severe constipation for the past three weeks and it is troubling me a lot. I have included high fiber fruits in my diet. This has helped me but I still feel the junk inside me. I do not know where I had missed to make it work for me. What is the dietary supplement to prevent constipation in future?

A. OU SHOULD ALWAYS CONSULT A DOCTOR WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS,BECAUSE IT COULD BE OTHER PROBLEMS AT WORK. IN most cases constipation is harmless, but accasionally it may be a symtom of an underlying disorder, especiall if it is of recent onset in an adult over 40yrs..some of the causes are HEMORRHOIDS..diverticular disease..cancer of the bowel..irritable bowel syndrome, the most common is insufficient fiber in your diet, another cause of constipation in elderly people is weakness of the muscles of the abdomen and pelvics,,,,you can try glycerin suppository at your drug store,,,laxatives...underactive thyroid gland....weight plays a big part in constipation...TRY EATING FOOD THAT IS LIGHT...fruit..leafy vegetables..potato skins..whole grain bread..cereals peas and beans..lots of water or fluid like veg juice....good luck...mrfoot56

I tried out a popular brand on my own and without my doctor’s recommendation. I am suffering from an allergy now due to it. My doctor advised/cautioned me to check the label before I buy anything at all. Do you read the nutritional information on the foods before you buy them?

A. although it's wise- i have faith in known products that big companies sell. and i'm not allergic to anything so i don't need to avoid anything.i read them every now and then just to see what am i swallowing, but not too often.
