Nonequilibrium reaction | definition of nonequilibrium reaction by Medical dictionary
reaction in which the concentration of the substrates and products is much smaller than the value of the equilibrium constant so that the value of ΔG is large and negative. These reactions are important in providing directionality in pathways in that the flux through the reaction is usually controlled by allosteric factors.

A reaction rate [greater than or equal to] 10 mA/min would indicate a nonequilibrium reaction condition and would lead to suppressed results and a "rate high" error flag.
The equilibrium state for lactate after 100 s and the nonequilibrium reaction rate for glycolic acid are clearly apparent.
