nidation [nīdā′shən] Etymology: L, nidus, nest the process by which an embryo burrows into the endometrium of the uterus. Also called implantation. See also placenta, uterus. nidation [ni-da´shun] implantation (def. 1). ![]() Nidation, occurring over the period between 7 to 10 days after fertilization. From Dorland's, 2000. nidation implantation of the fertilized ovum in the endometrium of the uterus in pregnancy.
