1. localized constriction of the retinal blood vessels.
2. making a small cut. A specific surgical procedure done on the underside of a horse's tail, which is then set so it is carried higher. Called also ventral caudal myotomy. Considered an unnecessary mutilation in most circles and may be illegal.
3. in animal breeding the phenomenon observed when the offspring are significantly better than either of the parents.
