Obsolete term for the recurrence of neurologic symptoms on initiation of therapy, especially with antisyphilitic drugs.

Of particular concern are cases and small series reports of neurorelapse or the development of neurosyphilis after appropriate treatment of early syphilis in HIV-infected patients (Berry, Hooten, Collier, & Lukehart, 1987; Musher, 1991).
