diabetic amyotrophy  a painful condition, associated with diabetes, with progressive wasting and weakening of muscles, usually limited to the muscles of the pelvic girdle and thigh.
neuralgic amyotrophy  atrophy and paralysis of the muscles of the shoulder girdle, with pain across the shoulder and upper arm.
