2 (in psychiatric nursing) the process of developing a set of agencies and professional personnel who are able to create a system of communication and support for psychiatric patients, usually those recently discharged from inpatient psychiatric facilities. Kinds of networks include natural network and professional network.
3 a network of supportive contacts or services, such as the Women's Health Network.
