nafcillin /naf·cil·lin/ (naf-sil´in) a semisynthetic, acid- and penicillinase-resistant penicillin that is effective against staphylococcal infections; used as the sodium salt.
nafcillin [naf-sil´in]
a semisynthetic, acid- and penicillinase-resistant penicillin antibiotic effective against staphylococcal infections; administered orally or parenterally as the sodium salt.

nafcillin (nafsil´in),
n a semisynthetic penicillin designed as an antistaphylococcal penicillin. Also effective in the treatment of infections caused by pneumococci and Group A β-hemolytic streptococci.
