myelinogenesis

Also found in: Wikipedia 0.02 sec.
myelinogenesis
formation of myelin in the nervous system. Commences in the embryo at about the midpoint of gestation but is not complete until after parturition, later in those species in which neonates do not walk immediately after birth; myelinogenesis is not simultaneous in all parts of the nervous system so that clinical signs may appear temporarily and recover spontaneously, e.g. some types of neonatal tremor in pigs.
