A syndrome seen in young persons and characterized by multiple submucosal neuromas or neurofibromas of the tongue, lips, and eyelids, sometimes accompanied by tumors of the thyroid or adrenal medulla or by subcutaneous neurofibromatosis.

multiple mucosal neuroma syndrome,
a condition of multiple submucosal neuromas or neurofibromas of the lips, tongue, and eyelids. The disease affects young persons and may be associated with tumors of the thyroid or adrenal medulla or with subcutaneous neurofibromatosis. See also multiple endocrine neoplasia.
