The fastening together of the ends of a broken bone with wire sutures.

n a technique of wiring the teeth for the reduction and fixation of fractures. Also called
multiple loop wire.

n a method of wiring using areas of bones not contiguous with the oral cavity for the support of fractured jaw segments (e.g., piriform aperture, zygomatic arch, zygomatic process of the frontal bone).

n.pr a method using a wire around two adjacent teeth, providing a loop useful for fixation of a fracture.

n a method of wiring a splint to the maxilla by passing a wire through the bone from the buccal plate to the palate.

n a method of wiring using that area of the nasal bones to stabilize fractures of the jaws.
