Etymology: L, mons, mountain; venus, love
a pad of fatty tissue and thick skin that overlies the symphysis pubis in the woman. After puberty it is covered with pubic hair. Also called mons pubis, mount of Venus.

mons pu´bis the rounded fleshy prominence over the symphysis pubis in the female.
