Monera /Mo·ne·ra/ (mo-ne´rah) a kingdom comprising the prokaryotes, unicellular organisms lacking true nuclei, i.e. the bacteria.

in the classification of living organisms, a kingdom comprising all unicellular organisms that lack true nuclei (the prokaryote), including principally the bacteria. Formerly called Procaryotae.
