A term of art for an area in an A&E (casualty) department in the UK for patients who present with illness or injury that is not immediately life threatening (minor). Minors patients are often examined by a nurse practitioner or A&E doctor, who treat a wide range of injuries, from simple cuts to major bone fractures, wounds and burns.
