miner's elbow

Etymology: L, minera + AS, elboga
an inflammation of the olecranon bursa, caused by resting the weight of the body on the elbow, as in some coal mining activities. The condition is sometimes seen in schoolchildren who lean on their elbows. Compare lateral humeral epicondylitis. See also bursitis.
