n a metric unit of measure defined as one thousandth (.001) of a liter and written as ml. See also liter.

milliliter (ml) (mil´ilē´tur),
n the preferred unit of volume used in prescription writing. It is based on the fundamental unit, the liter. One liter equals 1000 milliliters. In prescriptions the abbreviations ml and cc are often used interchangeably because they are so nearly equal.
