An infectious disease characterized by fever, profuse sweating, and the production of sudamina, occurring formerly in severe epidemics.

Etymology: L, milium, millet; L, febris
an inflammatory skin eruption caused by sweat retention. Sweat trapped in the dermis or epidermis causes irritation. Also called prickly heat.
