milium /mil·i·um/ (mil´e-um) pl. mil´ia   [L.] a tiny spheroidal epithelial cyst lying superficially within the skin, usually of the face, containing lamellated keratin and often associated with vellus hair follicles.

A small, white or yellowish cystlike mass just below the surface of the skin, caused by retention of the secretion of a sebaceous gland. Also called pearly tubercle, whitehead.

milium
pl. milia [L.] spheroidal follicular cyst of lamellated keratin lying just under the epidermis, which appears as small white or yellow nodule. Popularly called whitehead.
