diazinon, trichloronate, coumaphos, tetraethylpyrophosphate, mevinphos, monocrotophos, naled, parathion, ronnel, sulfotepp, sulprofos, tetrachlorvinphos, and protothiofos.
Pesticides known to induce this effect are hydrophobic and include rotenone, DDT, 2,4-dichlorophenoxy-acetic acid, dieldrin, diethyldithiocarbamate, paraquat, maneb, trifluralin, parathion, and imidazoldinethione; those having no significant effect include iprodione, glyphosate, methomyl, thiuram, mevinphos, carbaryl, alachlor, thiobencarb, and also MP[P.
Deputy environment minister Lewis Macdonald said the substances named - aldicarb, alphachloralose, aluminium phosphide, bendiocarb, carbofuran, mevinphos, sodium cyanide and strychnine - had all been used recently to kill wildlife.
