1. any small, rounded mass produced by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. 2. a nodule or small eminence, especially one on a bone for attachment of a tendon. 3. the cusp of a tooth. anatomical tubercle tuberculosis verrucosa cutis. auricular tubercle , auricular tubercle of Darwin, darwinian tubercle a small projection sometimes found on the edge of the helix; conjectured by some to be a relic of simioid ancestry.
