soft splint formed from 2.5-cm-wide elastic strapping, applied as a 'stirrup' to hind- and midfoot (with foot held in inversion; ± valgus filler pad) as short-term management of chronic medial ankle pain/trauma, or chronic plantar fasciitis (Figure 1)
