n.
A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent with analgesic and antipyretic actions.

meclofenamate sodium
[mek′lōfen′əmāt]
a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory agent.
indications It is prescribed in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis dysmenorrhea, and other mild to moderate pain.
contraindications Known hypersensitivity to aspirin or to nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs prohibits its use. It is used with caution in patients who have upper GI disease or impaired renal function.
adverse effects Among the more serious adverse effects are GI distress, peptic ulcers, dizziness, rashes, and tinnitus. This drug interacts with many other drugs.
