meclofenamate /me·clo·fen·am·ate/ (mek″lo-fen´ah-māt) a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug used as the sodium salt in the treatment of rheumatic and nonrheumatic inflammatory disorders, pain, dysmenorrhea, hypermenorrhea, and vascular headaches.

drug class: nonsteroidal antiinflammatory;
action: inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by interfering with cyclooxygenase needed for biosynthesis; possesses analgesic, antiinflammatory, antipyretic properties;
uses: mild to moderate pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis.

It is interesting to note that the NSAIDs with the greatest reductions in [beta]-amyloid production (flurbiprofen, meclofenamate, sulindac, and ibuprofen) were frequently used in the observational studies but have not been studied prospectively.
