n Latin name:
Colchicum autumnale; parts used: bulb, seeds; uses: pain, severe bowel evacuation, induction of vomiting, gout, nausea, diarrhea, rheumatism, leukemia, Beçhet's syndrome; precautions: kidney disease; can cause violent purging, stomach and bowel inflammation, and allergic skin reactions. Also called
cigdem, colchicum, colquico, herbstreitlose, naked boys, wilde herfsttijloos, and
autumn crocus.
