macropalpebral fissure
an abnormally large opening between the eyelids that, in animals, allows greater exposure of sclera. Commonly seen in the brachycephalic dog breeds, where it predisposes to proptosis, abnormal distribution of the tear film, and may be the cause of exposure keratitis because of an inability to close the lids completely.
