macrogenitosomia [mak′rōjen′itōsō′mē·ə] Etymology: Gk, makros + L, genitalis, genitalia; Gk, soma, body a congenital condition in which the genitalia are abnormal because of an excess of androgen during fetal development. It is characterized in boys by enlarged external genitalia and in girls by pseudohermaphroditism. macrogenitosomia [mak″ro-jen″ĭ-to-so´me-ah] excessive bodily development, with unusual enlargement of the genital organs. macrogenitosomia prae´cox macrogenitosomia occurring at an early age due to excessive androgens.
