an informal abbreviation of electrolytes, especially the levels of potassium, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium in the blood, as determined by laboratory testing.

lytes

Short form for electrolytes, including Na+, K+, Cl–, and CO3–, and possibly also Mg2+, Ca2+, and PO4–. See Electrolytes.
