lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCM)
a disease of mice caused by an arenavirus and characterized by the occurrence of immunological tolerance and the subsequent development of an immune complex disease. The lesions caused by the immune reaction vary very widely and include meningeal and perivascular infiltration with lymphoid cells in many organs. There are several similar naturally occurring diseases.

Lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCM) in immunocompetent persons usually is a mild, self-limited, viral syndrome or is asymptomatic; aseptic meningitis also can occur, but the infection is rarely fatal (4-6).
