luteinized cyst

a cyst that may develop when there is delayed or insufficient release of LH during estrus. Ovulation does not occur and the theca becomes luteinized. Commonly seen in cattle and pigs. See also cystic corpus luteum.

Clinically the animal was post-partum anestrous, which is the main clinical sign of luteal or luteinized cyst (Jainudeen and Hafeez, 1987).
Although granulosa cell tumors often become luteinized during pregnancy, the luteinization is usually not as pronounced as in the solitary luteinized cyst of pregnancy, and Call-Exner bodies have not been reported in the latter entity.
