fluke1 a helminth organism of the class Trematoda in the phylum Platyhelminthes, characterized by a body that is usually flat and often leaf-like. Trematodes can infect the blood, liver, intestines and lungs. All of the species that infect domestic animals are in the subclass Digenea, that is they are digenetic flukes.
