lateral pivot shift test

    0.02 sec.
lateral pivot shift test,
a test for integrity of the anterior cruciate ligament. The patient lies prone with the hip flexed and the knee extended. The examiner gradually flexes the knee while pushing the outside of the knee medially and internally rotating the tibia. A thud or jerk at 30° to 40° of flexion indicates deficiency of the anterior cruciate ligament.
