A nervous disorder characterized by an exaggerated physical response to being startled or to unexpected suggestion.

Latah
A culture specific reaction to sudden stress described in Southeast Asia. Latah involves startle-induced disorganization, hypersuggestibility, automatisms, command obedience, uncontrollable motor and verbal responses—e.g., echolalia, echopraxia, coprolalia—and dissociative and trancelike behaviour
