n.
1. An artery with origin in the inferior thyroid artery, with distribution to the muscles and mucous membrane of the larynx, and with anastomosis to the superior laryngeal artery; inferior laryngeal artery.
2. An artery with origin in the superior thyroid artery, with distribution to the muscles and mucous membrane of the larynx, and with anastomoses to a branch of the superior thyroid artery and the terminal branches of the inferior laryngeal artery; superior laryngeal artery.

laryngeal artery,
either of the two arteries, superior and inferior, that are responsible for the major blood supply to the larynx.
