ketoconazole
an imidazole antifungal agent, used orally and topically as the nitrate in the treatment of cutaneous and systemic fungal infections. It also inhibits steroidogenesis and has been used in the treatment of canine hyperadrenocorticism; infertility and teratogenicity may occur.

Miconazole is the antifungal of choice for P boydii, (38) and several authors have reported successful treatment with ketoconazole.
A partial list of these medications includes ciprofloxacin, erythropoietin, lamivudine (for the treatment of hepatitis B), fluconazole, ketoconazole, itraconazole, ganciclovir (to treat CMV), ribavirin and interferon (to treat hepatitis C), rifabutin (to treat MAI), and famciclovir (to treat Herpes Simplex).
The dog was treated with oral ketoconazole (10 mg/kg/day) for 5 weeks.
