keratinosome /ke·rat·i·no·some/ (kĕ-rat´ĭ-no-sōm) lamellar body; a type of spherical granule in cells of the skin that migrates to the cytoplasm and discharges its contents into the intercellular space, where the granules are believed to function as a barrier against foreign substances.
keratinosome small organelle in the intercellular space of the epidermis; it has a role in retaining water and in cell cohesion. Called also Odland's body; cementasome.
