Keeshond
a medium-sized, compact dog with very thick, medium length, ash gray haircoat that forms a characteristic ruff around the neck and is profuse on a tail that curls tightly over the back. The ears are small and erect and the face is fox-like. The breed is predisposed to atopy, epilepsy and heart defects.

When my 14-year-old Keeshond died of old age a few years ago, I discovered with horror that a peaceful death was not to be her lot.
Linda Salmon, the owner of Moses, an 11-year-old Keeshond dog, can relate to people whose pets don't deal well with fireworks.
