Q. I am 48 years old and worried about getting old. Do you know the ways to keep fit at this age and above? Q. How do I explain why I keep going off my meds? Am I the only one that has this problem?

A. It is very common for people with bipolar disorder to cycle on and off of their drugs. Although not advisable. There are reasons ranging from denial (I dont think I have this illess), craving the high feelings and energy resulting from mania's to side effects from the medications. There is a good book you can read called An Unquiet Mind by Kay Redfield Jamison, It is written in her first person experience with bipolar disorder and she talks in length about her tendancies to come off her medications.
