kaolin /ka·o·lin/ (ka´o-lin) native hydrated aluminum silicate, powdered and freed from gritty particles by elutriation; used as an adsorbent and, often with pectin, an antidiarrheal.

A fine white clay that, when powdered, is used as a demulcent and adsorbent and, in dentistry, as an agent that confers opacity and toughness to porcelain teeth.

n a fine, pure-white clay (hydrated aluminum silicate) used in porcelain teeth.

kaolin
native hydrated aluminum silicate; used externally as an adsorbent and protective and internally as a gastrointestinal adsorbent and demulcent in mild diarrhea. The basis of the antiphlogistine poultice. Called also China clay.
