jin-ye (djēn-y n.pl body fluids; in traditional Chinese medicine theory, the liquids that nourish, protect, and lubricate the human body. These fluids include tears, sweat, stomach acid, semen, saliva, breast milk, mucus, and other secretions. Jin refers to the lighter fluids, which nourish and moisten the muscles and skin; ye refers to the denser, darker fluids that feed the internal organs, bones, brain, and body orifices.
