The trial is a randomized, double-blind study enrolling approximately 510 patients who will be administered either MBP8298 or placebo intravenously every six months for a period of two years. Doctors randomly assigned 415 women with ovarian cancer that was spreading to nearby tissues to receive either standard chemotherapy intravenously or that therapy plus up to six courses, at 3-week intervals, of chemotherapy injected into the abdomen via a catheter. They will administer the magnesium sulfate drug intravenously. |
