Cardiology A study of the cardiac conduction system, performed by introducing multipolar catheter electrodes into the vascular system, and positioning them in various parts of the heart, allowing simultaneous recording of multiple leads; the catheters are used to record local electrical activity and stimulate the heart; IESs measure the AV, HA, and PA intervals, the last of which, the PA interval, has little clinical value
