interpubic disk [-pyo̅o̅′bik] Etymology: L, inter + os pubis, pubic bone; Gk, diskos, flat plate the fibrocartilaginous plate connecting the opposed surfaces of the bodies of the pubic bones. Varying in thickness, it is strengthened by interlacing fibers and often contains a cavity that usually appears after the tenth year of life. Also called discus interpubicus.
