intermittent tremor

Etymology: L, inter, between, mittere, to send, tremere, to tremble
a rhythmic involuntary shaking that occurs intermittently.

intermittent tremor

(1) A tremor that comes and goes in varying frequency.
(2) An older, nonspecific term for a tremor associated with efforts to move a partially paralysed extremity.

intermittent tremor

A tremor common to paralyzed muscles in hemoplegia when attempting voluntary movement.
